Writer/Director:
Writer/Director Ben Rodkin makes his feature film debut with Big Heart City. His gallery-based film and video work has shown extensively in the United States and Europe, including as part of the New Filmmaker program at the Anthology Film Archives in New York.

Film Crash executive producer Matthew Harrison met Mr. Rodkin when Harrison was teaching Graduate Film at Calarts, where Mr. Rodkin was completing his MFA.

Synopsis:
Frank Polowski has just returned after a six-month absence, a trip prompted by a mistake with not yet fully realized consequences. He'd left his home, his friends, his lover, Jane, and had expected it all to have remained untouched, in stasis, awaiting his return.

But his arrival is met by an empty apartment; still, stale, cold, abandoned; Jane is gone, and there is nothing to indicate her imminent return.

This is where Frank's personal mystery begins. A fragile string of clues emerge; events, encounters that seem significant to Jane's disappearance. But Frank is the only one who sees their significance; no one else is willing to invest in his suspicions. He is operating entirely on his own.

Frank's self-assurances that things will again return to the way they were are quickly replaced by a tendency to lie to himself, and to everyone around him, to pretend that everything is okay.

Still, he invests every real confidence he has into confirming his beliefs, and in doing so he tests the boundaries of his few remaining relationships, as he embarks on a cathartic attempt to discover the truth behind Jane's departure.
