FILMCRASH FILMCRASH
FILMCRASH THE ALBUM
In 1985, noting a lack of screens for the exciting new filmmaking emerging in downtown New York City, Film Crash launched its screening series. Film Crash brought a showcase of new, daring and provocative films to a new audience.

From the outset, a unique feature of Film Crash shows was it's patented Immersion Film Experience; new and exotic venues, a dedicated audience, a music soundtrack for each show, a salon-like atmosphere and multi-media visuals. Local artists and photographers often showcased their work along the walls of the venues and often shows ended with deejayed parties.

We are proud to present the growing album of the Film Crash story.

1989 Year at PS 122

1989 is an exciting year for Film Crash as their exploding downtown popularity grew and lead to establishing the show at the prestigious P.S. 122 Performance Space, a reclaimed empty public school on the corner of First Avenue and 9th Street. Beginning the year in the large downstairs theater, overflowing crowds quickly led to moving the show to the capacious upstairs space where Film Crash continued to break box office records.
